ShowLink control and 2.4 GHz Spectrum
A ShowLink® Access Point (AXT610 or AD610) enables communication with ShowLink-enabled transmitters over the ShowLink network, providing the ability to update device parameters remotely. When you perform an IR sync to form a linked channel between an Axient receiver and an Axient transmitter, it gives the transmitter permission to be on the ShowLink network.
ShowLink access points operate in the 2.4 GHz portion of the RF spectrum in accordance with the IEEE 802.15.4 protocol. Within the 2.4 GHz spectrum, 16 channels are available for ShowLink communication.
ShowLink Scanning and Plotting to Avoid Interference
Access points are self-managing to avoid interference. To ensure reliable communication, the access point contains an internal scanning radio that analyzes the 2.4 GHz spectrum hundreds of times per second.
If you have the Channel Selection option set to Automatic for your access points, the system will automatically switch the ShowLink channels for you to avoid interference. All transmitters associated with the access point will continue to communicate uninterrupted on the new channel.
Wireless Workbench® provides the ability to view RF activity in the 2.4 GHz range in the ShowLink Plot option. This option lets you view a plot of the spectrum and any access points you have online within that spectrum.
